New EU rules make repairing broken products easier from today
From 31 July 2026, new EU rules will make it easier and cheaper for people to get broken household and electronic products fixed. Manufacturers will have to repair items that are technically fixable under EU law, within a reasonable time and at a fair price. Choosing to repair an item will also extend its legal guarantee by at least 12 months.
