Wildfires force 60,000 people from their homes in Washington state
Three major blazes are tearing through areas near Spokane on Monday after destroying about 600 buildings and leaving more than 10,000 homes and businesses without power. Lisa Brown, the mayor of Spokane, called the emergency the worst natural disaster in the local area. Bob Ferguson, the state governor, declared a statewide emergency and asked for federal help.
