The Mercedes driver lost the lead briefly to Max Verstappen at the start at Spa before fighting back, while team-mate George Russell retired after first-lap contact with Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen finished third, Hamilton took fourth despite a five-second penalty, and Oscar Piastri completed the top five.
