Millions in Great Britain could face emergency power cuts
New rules coming into effect this week mean the national electricity system operator can now call for rotating blackouts with only eight hours' notice. For the first occasion, the system operator is able to implement extensive power cuts to stabilise the grid, no longer requiring emergency government powers.
