Banana plants are fruiting in UK gardens due to warmer weather
Warmer summers and milder winters mean tropical plants like bananas are now growing fruit in British gardens. Peter and Emma Stav in Rayleigh, Essex, saw fruit on their 200 banana plants after 15 years. Botanist James Wong says hotter UK temperatures make it "very easy" to grow the Musa Basjoo variety, though its fruit isn't really for eating.
