Spain offers people £25,000 to move into empty rural homes
Spain is offering grants of up to £25,000 for people to renovate and rent out abandoned properties in a remote region. Castilla-La Mancha's government created the scheme to revitalise unused homes and fight rural depopulation, which has seen nearly 5,000 new residents since 2021. The maximum grant includes money for renovations and to cover potential damage, with rent capped at £600 a month.
