BDO falls below audit standards for the fifth year running, regulator says
The Financial Reporting Council, the UK audit watchdog, found half of the 14 BDO audits it inspected in its 2025/26 review needed improvement, with one needing significant improvement. It will inspect more of BDO's audits and carry out extra checks on specific cases to see if problems are being fixed. BDO said it's committed to improving, after recent fines including £5.8m for faking audit evidence and £2m over its audit of NMCN.
