IAG profit drops 16% as Middle East conflict hits transatlantic flights
IAG, the group that also runs Iberia and Aer Lingus, paid nearly 23% more for fuel and emissions between April and June. Company bosses said the ongoing war is hurting passenger demand across its usually reliable transatlantic flight routes. Despite these extra costs, the firm still reported €1.41 billion in operating earnings for the quarter, narrowly beating financial forecasts.
